چکیده

The performance of both fluidized and spouted bed reactors in the pyrolysis waste plastics is conditioned by particle agglomeration phenomena, which worsens quality gas–solid contact eventually lead to defluidization. objective this work determine optimum conditions for stable operation (without defluidization) a bench scale plant fitted with fountain confined conical reactor equipped nonporous draft tube, operates continuous mode. insertion these devices enhances contact, especially region, leads highly hydrodynamic regime, features being especial relevance situ catalytic plastics. This paper deals effect different variables have on minimum temperature avoiding analyzed are as follows: plastic type (HDPE, LDPE, PP, PS, PET PMMA), feed rate, mass inert material bed, spouting velocity use catalyst. results show that polymers whose chains decompose at low temperatures or high degrees branching require operating temperatures. Besides, ratio rate (Wbed/Qplastic) and/or were increased, required avoid defluidization was also reduced. catalyst reduced operation, activation energy cracking reactions greatly reduced, so reaction increased.

Pyrolysis of Softwood Carbohydrates in a Fluidized Bed Reactor

In the present work pyrolysis of pure pine wood and softwood carbohydrates, namely cellulose and galactoglucomannan (the major hemicellulose in coniferous wood), was conducted in a batch mode operated fluidized bed reactor. Temperature ramping (5 degrees C/min) was applied to the heating until a reactor temperature of 460 degrees C was reached. Thereafter the temperature was kept until the rele...

Pressurised pyrolysis of Miscanthus using a fixed bed reactor.

Miscanthus x giganteus was pyrolysed, in a fixed bed reactor in a constant flow of dinitrogen gas, at a rate of 13°C/min from ambient to 550°C, then held for 25 min at this temperature. The pressures employed ranged from atmospheric to 26 bar. The major compounds identified in the bio-oil were water, phenol, and phenol derivatives. The water contents impact on the usefulness of the bio-oil as a...

bio-oil production from fast pyrolysis of corn wastes and eucalyptus wood in a fluidized bed reactor

fast pyrolysis is an attractive technology for biomass conversion, from which bio-oil is the preferred product with a great potential for use in industry and transport. corn wastes (cob and stover) and eucalyptus wood are widely being produced throughout the world. in this study, fast pyrolysis of these two materials were examined under the temperature of 500 °c; career gas flow rate of 660 l h...

Determination of the Deactivation Model of Iron-potassium/γ-Al2O3 Catalyst in a Fixed Bed Reactor

Catalyst activity and performance are the most important factors for selecting a catalyst in different processes. The Fischer-Tropsch synthesis is a very important synthesis that extensive action has been taken place to increase the activity of its catalysts in the recent century. Deactivation of the catalysts of the process is influenced by many factors, among which coking and sintering have c...
